HOLY ROSARY – Joyful Mysteries – Monday and Saturday

SIGN OF THE CROSS

By the sign of the Holy Cross,
from our enemies deliver us, O Lord, our God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. AMEN.

So that our prayer may be pleasing to God, let us purify our hearts by repenting of our sins. Let us all pray together the Act of Contrition.

APOSTLES’ CREED

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
Creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son,
our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary;
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died and was buried;
He descended into hell;
on the third day He rose again from the dead;
He ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of God,
the Father Almighty.
From there He will come to judge
the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy Catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting. Amen.

ACT OF CONTRITION

O my God,
I am heartily sorry for having offended You,
and I detest all my sins
because I dread the loss of heaven and the pains of hell,
but most of all because they offend You, my God,
who are all good and deserving of all my love.
I firmly resolve, with the help of Your grace,
to sin no more,
to confess my sins,
to do penance,
and to amend my life.
Amen.

She wrapped Him in swaddling clothes and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. In that same region there were some shepherds, and the Angel of the Lord appeared to them and said: Do not be afraid, for I bring you news of great joy: a Saviour has been born for you.

They brought Jesus to Jerusalem to present Him to the Lord, as it is written in the Law of the Lord. And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem named Simeon, who was waiting for the consolation of Israel; and the Holy Spirit was upon him. Simeon blessed them and said to Mary, His mother: This child is destined for the fall and rise of many in Israel, and to be a sign of contradiction; and a sword will pierce your own soul too, so that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.

They returned to Jerusalem in search of Him. After three days, they found Him in the Temple, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions; and all who heard Him were amazed at His understanding and His answers.
